IMMUNE Technology Institute and UMECIT join forces to launch a new master's degree in Data Science & Business Analytics

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT), headquartered in Panama City, and IMMUNE Technology Institute have teamed up to launch a new Master in Data Science & Business Analytics with a specialisation in business intelligence.

With this agreement, IMMUNE Technology Institute and UMECIT address the growth in the technology employment market, training professionals in the sector and discovering technological talent anywhere in the world.

The aim of the new training programme is to create professionals prepared to adapt to the needs of the technological working world, being able to make the best business decisions based on real data.

This initiative is in addition to IMMUNE's agreement with the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SICA), which since last July has been offering scholarships in Data Science, Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing to students from the eight SICA Member States.

Employability in technology

Currently, it is estimated that 5 out of every 20 job vacancies The demand for Data Science professionals is expected to grow by 54% by 2030. Likewise, in Latin America and the Caribbean, the number of additional ICT-related professionals and the demand for new emerging digital business-oriented roles is growing faster than for traditional IT jobs.

For his part, the Rector of the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT- UMECIT-) José Alberto Nieto RojasThese postgraduate programmes will provide the necessary tools for professionals interested in machine learning-based algorithms, which are necessary in today's business world," he said.

This master's degree, directed by computer engineer Ana Patricia García Guerrero, will be taught online and will last 18 months.

Throughout the four semesters in which it is divided, students will learn the techniques, strategies and tools most in demand in the sector, such as the importance of the use of data and its interpretation, the principles and benefits of business intelligence, the development of artificial intelligence or the concept of "business intelligence".DATA SCIENCE"and its relationship to other disciplines, its methods and its practical application.
