Ricardo Estupinián, student of the Master in Cloud Computing Online: "I would like to specialise as a DevOps engineer".

Hello everybody! My name is Ricardo Estupinián, I am software developer with approximately 3 years of experience. Now my goal is to become an expert DevOps engineer. In the course of these years, I have worked with a lot of programming languages such as: Java, Python, TypeScript, PHP, etc.

Currently, I am interested in learning and developing skills in the field of cybersecurity and in Cloud technologies. So, as I was saying, my next goal is to specialise in DevOps engineering

In my free time I like to relax and enjoy time with my family. I like to watch documentaries about science, history, animals, etc. Also, when I have a bit of time left I like to play video games or play sports like basketball and football.

Tell us a little about your academic and professional career...

I studied Computer Systems Engineering at the University of El Salvador from which I graduated with honours. I am currently a software developer at the Central Reserve Bank of El Salvador.

Why did you decide to complete your profile with a Master in Cloud Computing?

The continuous improvement is one of the main reasons why I took the master's degree, I believe that in the field of computer science you should learn new technologies, methodologies, architectures, best practices, etc., as it helps us to have a broader and updated approach allowing us to design solutions that are increasingly comprehensive and adapted to the current needs of the world. Besides, it is part of my personal goals that I wish to achieve.

You are a software developer at the Central Reserve Bank of El Salvador, what do you think this Master's degree can give you at a professional level?

Although I have not yet completed the Master's degree, it has been a fundamental complement in the development of my professional career and in my current place of work, as I have learned about the functioning and benefits provided by the Cloud infrastructure has allowed me to identify opportunities for improvement in the design of financial products with institutional impact, since the development of these products requires a multidisciplinary approach with cutting-edge technical knowledge focused on cyber security and Cloud technologies.

You are part of a scholarship programme for Central America and the Dominican Republic supported by the General Secretariat of the General System of Central American Integration (SICA), how do you value this type of initiative from entities such as SICA?

I really appreciate that support is given to young people who have the willingness, motivation and commitment to learn new things and improve our technical and personal skills.

In most cases, there are young people with the necessary attitudes and skills, but they do not have opportunities or resources like these. I feel privileged by the opportunity for SICA to I am deeply grateful for this scholarship, as this type of programme results in professionals with higher technical and personal quality, which gives us the opportunity to significantly improve our quality of life and prepares us to contribute responsibly and comprehensively to the development of our country.

What role do you think public institutions have in their commitment to technology training?

Public institutions definitely play an important role in all aspects of a country's development. technological training is no exception. The information society is the current context of the whole world, therefore, I believe that it is the responsibility of each country to promote technological training so that citizens are able to use new technologies as tools to support and develop their daily activities.

You are studying online at IMMUNE Technology Institute, what can you tell us about this study methodology? Do you feel comfortable?

Yes, I feel very comfortable. For students who work full time, this modality is perfect as it allows us to manage our time. In addition, the content is well structured so that you can study and practice almost autonomously.

I quite like the labs, because it is the perfect way to put the knowledge I have learnt into practice.

What do you value most about the teachers in the classroom?

People with high technical knowledge, they provide the confidence for the student to consult without any fear. They are teachers who are dedicated to what they teach, their experience backs up their knowledge and this is reflected in the fact that they teach us with real life cases.
