Prerequisites
  • Mandatory
    • Solid foundation in systems and networks: Basic IP/subnetting, DNS, conceptual-level routing/NAT.
    • Have experience using the terminal and be comfortable following guided labs (CLI/Portal).
    • Basic knowledge of virtualisation and remote desktop or SSH.
    • If you enter this block alone (without Block 1): credit equivalence through prior experience, interview or proficiency test (see “access route” at the end).
  • Recommended
    • Previous experience managing environments (on-premise or cloud) or development with deployments.
    • Familiarity with typical Cloud Admin concepts (compute, storage, networking, identity).
    • Basic knowledge of PowerShell or willingness to automate.

Cloud Administrator
  • Learn to manage and configure cloud resources with technical judgement, security, and good operational practices.
  • Compute
    • Create and manage VMs/instances, scaling (VMSS/ASG/MIG), images, extensions/agents.
    • Choosing sizes (CPU/RAM/IOPS) based on load and cost.
  • Storage
    • Design storage according to need: objects, disks, file shares, backups.
    • Apply access policies (ACLs/policies), versioning and replication.
  • Networks
    • Design VNets/VPCs with subnets, routing, DNS, NAT, egress/ingress control.
    • Implement load balancing (L4/L7) and publish services securely.
  • Connectivity
    • Set up site-to-site connections (VPN) and understand hybrid scenarios (on-premise and cloud).
  • Containers
    • Deploy and operate AKS/EKS/GKE
    • Understand and implement services like Azure Container Instance/Fargate/Cloud Run, depending on the cloud.

    • Deploy web apps

  • Understand and apply the fundamentals of cloud architecture (public/private/hybrid) to design scalable, secure, governed, and sustainable solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical decisions (SLA, RTO/RPO, performance, cost, compliance).
  • Designing for high availability, fault tolerance, scaling patterns, decoupling, queues/events.
  • Designing with robust and professional security in mind. Roles, least privilege, environment segregation.
  • Design governance and control. Apply account/subscription/project structures, policies, standards, naming/tagging, resource control.
  • Designing data architectures. Choosing storage/DB based on use case. Data integration and flows (conceptual level ETL/ELT).
  • Design backups, disaster recovery, replication, and recovery plans with realistic costs.
