Even jobs that are outside the realm of IT favour applicants with programming knowledge simply for the skills that programming helps them to develop.

Scratch is a visual programming language and online community where children can create their own interactive stories, games, and animations by dragging and dropping code blocks.

Scratch is a visual programming language that allows students to create their own interactive stories,
games and animations. As students design Scratch projects, they learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. Scratch was created by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab.

How do we address the notion that programming is «difficult and time-consuming»? How do we transform «difficult and slow» into «approachable and fast»? The answer lies in visual, block-based programming.

Block-based programming emerged as the best solution to the previous problem. The idea is to create code in a visual (simple) and traditional text-based coding (powerful) manner. All the developer has to do is connect visual «building blocks» in a logical way.

This approach became predominant for introducing children to programming and is now used all over the world.

Scratch for kids

Block-based coding uses a drag-and-drop learning environment, where programmers use coding instruction «blocks» to build animated stories and games. It is a simple activity, where children can gain a foundation in computational thinking through visual elements rather than text-based coding.

Are you ready for a valuable future skill and some fun?
